Meet Howard Oifer
With over 40 years of experience in the field of optometry, Dr. Howard Oifer has been dedicated to providing expert care for a broad range of eye health needs. Specializing in the treatment of eye diseases, injuries, dry eye conditions, and the fitting of glasses and contact lenses, Dr. Oifer has earned a reputation as a trusted provider of personalized eye care.
Dr. Oifer's journey in optometry began in 1980 when he opened his first Pearle Vision store, under the guidance of Dr. Stanley Pearle. He operated the business for over four decades, building lasting relationships with many of his patients, who continue to visit him to this day. Additionally, Dr. Oifer previously owned a Pearle Vision in Cumming, Georgia, for over a decade.
Now, he’s excited to bring his wealth of experience and commitment to patient-centered care to the community with Lanier Family Eyecare. Dr. Oifer is passionate about helping his patients achieve clear vision and maintain optimal eye health, offering the same personal touch that has made him a trusted choice for families across Georgia.

MEET DAVID MAYER
Dave Mayer is from St. Marys, Georgia and relocated to Atlanta with many of his friends and brother. He started working for Dr. Oifer in 1998 and developed his career earning his COA, COT, and COMT in Ophthalmology working with some of Atlanta's most esteemed Ophthalmologists from Emory, Thomas Eye Group and Woolfson Eye Institute.
Working alongside Dr. Oifer for 28 years, Dave has shared his passion for learning in Optometry/Ophthalmology with patients, helping them to understand how best to care for their eyes as well as all around general health.
While Dave lends a personal touch to assisting patients with first time contact wearing, he also works directly with Dr. Oifer on patient care with Refractions, Optos retinal photography, and slit lamp photography.
Dave thoroughly enjoys meeting and working with all patients and is looking forward to meeting YOU. "I enjoy helping others and this is my contribution to my community. I love this stuff!

With 17 years of experience in the optometry field alongside Dr. Howard Oifer, Catherine Adams serves as the Office Manager at Lanier Family Eyecare. Born and raised in Georgia, Catherine is deeply committed to providing a high level of customer care and ensuring that every patient enjoys a remarkable experience. Her passion for helping others and attention to detail are evident in her work every day.
Outside of the office, Catherine dedicates much of her free time to volunteering and giving back to the community. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, John, of 25 years, and their two sons—Hunter, an aviation student in college, and Garrett, a sophomore in high school. Family, service, and making a positive impact are at the heart of everything she does.
